The Country Park Local Nature Reserve was formerly a chalk quarry and developed as a country park following the construction of the Humber Bridge.

There is also the local Country Park Inn, a restaurant & pub to enjoy food with spectacular views of the Humber Bridge.

Farmers' Market

On the first Sunday of each month there is the local Humber Bridge Farmers’ Market, where you can pick up locally sourced cheese, meat pies and much more.

The market is the largest event of its kind in the region, with over 5,000 visitors each month. Visitors can expect over 100 stalls selling a selection of the best seasonal, local produce, in addition to a dedicated section for arts and crafts.

Hessle Academy

The Hessle Academy Community Trust comprises Penshurst Primary School and Hessle High School and Sixth Form College. The partnership between the two schools aims to deliver continuous outstanding education for the children and families within the Hessle community and surrounding locality.
